2nd Treasure - [Action/Voice]

[Over a week ago, the Malnosso kidnapped one Patty Fleur from the enclosure for experimentation. On the morning of the sixth, one Patty Fleur is returned. However, it may be hard to tell who she is at first glance. She now looks like this, outfit included. The Malnosso dropped her off just north of the village, by the river, where she regains consciousness relatively soon. There's just a few more problems, on top of the obvious. The first being that her memories are in disarray. The Malnosso had a little fun with them and now everything's a great big mess. The second problem is that they drugged her pretty badly.]

[Action]

[When she awakens, she feels groggy and disoriented. She has no clue where she is, or even who she is. A soft groan escapes her and she rolls over onto her stomach so she can push herself into a crouching position. A wave of nausea overcomes her and- Oh, there's water nearby. Drinking some water would help. That river is clean enough, right? She moves closer on her hands and feet to peer down into it, then catches sight of her own reflection.

That's right... She's Aifread. Aifread, the Guild Leader of... Siren's Fang. See, she knew she could work her way through the groggyness. And she looks terrible. They must've been out on another drinking binge the previous night. Her crew could throw the craziest parties whenever she permitted them. She cups some water into her hands to take an idle sip, then glances around. The place doesn't seem familiar to her. One thing catches her attention, though: A neat journal that's lying on the ground nearby.

A journal... The strangest notion dawns on her, and she flips it open only to have her suspicions confirmed. It's a communication's device. That's right, couldn't she use this to broadcast messages to her companions? She's sure that's how it worked. There was something else about this journal- something important. Something to do with who gave it to her? Or the other people who have one? The more she tries to think about it, the greater her headache becomes.

She can worry about the details later, when her hangover's died down. Right now, she needs to find out where the rest of her crew passed out.]


[Voice]

[Cue a deep woman's voice. She seems to be speaking with a bit of a slur.]

All right, you lowlifes. You've had your fun, but remember Guild rule number seven. There will be appropriate punishment, so go clean up your acts and prepare yourselves.

[Cause you know.. this could be her MOM or something! Looks a lot like her!]

Patty...? [That's another name that... Hm... For a second, it seems like memories are about to resurface, but then she gets hit by such a painful migraine she has to hold a hand to her forehead.]

-Tch. ... Don't got any relatives by that name, no.

Oh, my mistake.

[Estelle just isn't connecting the dots yet. She's had far too little experience with the Malnosso and their.. tampering.]

Tell me more about your guild. It sounds interesting.

[sirensfang]

We're the pirates guild- and we use the term "pirate" loosely. If you need a seafaring job taken care of, we're your guys! Cargo protection, sunken treasure recovery... Just don't ask us to go fishing!

[She laughs loudly, but breaks off after a few seconds because her head is killing her. Bluhhh...]

That sounds exciting! It must be exhilarating to lead such an adventurous life!

[She's ready many books about pirates and adventures involving them. Never mind that they tended to be the bad guys, but she said loosely, so it couldn't be that bad.]

[sirensfang]

Aye! That's why I chose it. [And that's why she should get back to her crew as soon as possible. If only she knew where she was...]

[This lady really does remind her a lot of Patty. Come to think of it, she hasn't seen her since she woke up. But the girl did tell her she would go off on her own adventure, and neither Yuri or Raven had seemed particularly worried. But...]

Oh, my name is Estelle. It's a pleasure to meet you miss...?

[sirensfang]

[Oh. She's not supposed to use her own name too publicly. Cypher warned her about that. It'd destroy the whole point of him pretending to be the leader of the guild.]

... Tell you what. You come meet me in person and we'll exchange introductions then.

Oh... all right. Where are you?

[sirensfang]

[Errr.] That is an excellent question, but the greater the challenge, the greater the hunt, ya know!

So here's your hints. I'm right by a river- judging by the moss on the trees and the sun's position, I'd say it's flowing South. There's a mountain range to the... East, possibly Northeast. It's a pretty fair distance away, I can barely see it from here.

Er, okay. I'll be there soon?

[Hopefully. She can work with those directions. She thinks. So off she goes!]

[sirensfang]

[Don't worry, 'Aifread' will be there. She's just sitting by the river, trying to make herself more presentable and hoping to remember just what the heck she did last night.]

[Eventually Estelle does show up and catches sight of the lady who looks a lot like Patty. When she does, she raises her arm in a wave before quickly approaching.]

Oh, there you are! I was afraid I might not find you.

[sirensfang]

[By this time, she's been approached by a man named Alexei. She's been speaking to a boy named Yuri Lowell over the journals. Both have stirred some strange memories. Now that she gets to see Estelle in person, rather than through a small book, she realizes this girl is stirring memories as well.

And it's all so very confusing.]

It's you...

[Estelle too is struck with a sense of familiarity when she sees the woman in person. She hadn't known Patty very long, but... it's still there. On the way here, her mind had indeed started coming up with thoughts about the few results of mallynapping she had seen. Alexei had been made into a woman, and Pinkie into a human... then perhaps...]

Yes. [She says this with a smile.]

May I now ask your name?

[sirensfang]

It's... Aifread. [Though it's spoken with a certain note of uncertainty. She knows her name is Aifread, and yet for some reason, it's starting to feel off.]

[childofthefullmoon]

Are you sure?

[Yes it would be odd to ask someone if they're sure about their name, and Estelle usually wouldn't but... she heard that uncertain note in her voice.]

You look a great deal like my friend, Patty. Just... [older?]

[sirensfang]

[Hm... That 'Flynn' fellow had said that Patty was a pseudonym she'd used while she was here, but if that was the case, wouldn't Estelle have recognized her as Patty immediately?]

Just... what?

[childofthefullmoon]

You're older.

[sirensfang]

Older... [And then it all clicks. Why she believed Yuri to be taller than her, why people ask her if she's a relative of Patty instead of Patty herself. It's because Patty was a young girl.]

Yes, that must be it. I'm older now, aren't I...?

[Estelle just blinks in confusion, not entirely sure what to make of this.]

... Is that really you, Patty?

[Was this the Malnosso's doing too?]

[sirensfang]

I think so... [She runs a hand through her hair, frowning.] My head is murkier than a pond full of algae.

[Estelle comes over to kneel down next to Patty/Aifread with a soft frown on her face.]

It's all right.

[...]

The Malnosso did this to you.

[She was fairly sure of that now.]

[sirensfang]

Hmm... They're the guys in charge, right?

[She's still not entirely sure what exactly the Malnosso did to her. Is she just older? That doesn't seem right. Memories of being young are conflicting with other memories of being young, and those are conflicting with memories of being older. Which of those are real? Or are they all real, somehow?]

Yes. Do you remember when Alexei was in our house, as a woman? It's somewhat the same thing, I believe. They experiment on us.

[Estelle hates seeing this happen to one of her friends, and has to wonder when it will happen to her.]
