5th Treasure - [Voice]

[It'd been another one of those mornings. One of those mornings where the house felt a little emptier. Patty'd hoped she wouldn't ever have to make one of these announcements, but there's no one left to take the burden off her shoulders, now. There's only her. ... Well, her and Alexei, but she can't exactly ask him to announce this.

When she opens the journal, she tries to make her voice sound as airy as possible. Of course, she doesn't entirely succeed. There's a kind of stuffiness to her tone that makes it seem as if she's got a bad cold.]

To everyone who knew her, Estelle's gone back home. There's a small ocean of library books in her room, so I guess I'll have to return those myself, ya know.

So... While I've got this thing open, I might as well ask. Anyone here handy with a pair of scissors and a mop of hair? My locks've been getting longer than a whale's tail, ya know. I could use a good cut.

Mm, aye! Aye, that's better! [She gives a quick, determined nod.] Snip away, I'd say.

[Clove adjusts a little, just to account for her method as well, and chooses a spot slightly lower. There, she ties off the hair, pulls a knife, and quickly pulls it across the top of the tie, slicing through the hair easily.]

Done.

Haaah? Already?

[Patty's used to people taking at least three times as long. Granted, they usually use a pair of scissors. Pirate as she is, the quick knife-slicing method isn't used too often when it comes to hair. She reaches behind her back to feel at her hair, but it's indeed as short as she'd hoped.]

Whoah! That was faster than a dolphin's tail!

I left it a little longer since I used [Clove steps around to show Patty the knife] this, so it might be a little ragged near the end. Someone else should be able to even it all out, though, and the major work is done for them.

I don't mind a little raggedness, ya know! It adds character. [She grins up at Clove for a moment, then begins to move herself off the table again.]

[Clove can't help but smile at that.]

Well, glad I could help.

I'm glad you're glad! [She gives a cheerful chuckle as her feet touch the ground and she stands upright again. Her hand reaches for her hat so she can put it back where it belongs. As for her hair, she can always put it back in its braids when she's returned to her home.]

If you ever need me to return the favor, just let me know! I can't give neat haircuts, but I've got plenty of other useful qualities, ya know.

What sort? [Not that Clove expects to need anything, but... Fair's fair. She might be able to find something just to make them even, not that this was a big favor or anything.]

Well... I'm a pretty good chef, if I do say so myself! I can cook you a meal! [She grins proudly.]

That'd be great. My roommate cooks; he's getting pretty good, actually. But something different is always great.
